Lear Corporation -Advanced Purchasing Manager (Connectivity)

Position Focus:
The Connectivity Advanced Purchasing Manager role will support Connectivity growth by ensuring Lear's most competitive material costs in critical business pursuits. This includes:
•Collaborate and engage with Engineering to identify and competitively source components from the beginning of the design / quote process
•Build and implement supply base strategies for critical components to define preferred suppliers or identify new supplier partners
•Create bottoms-up Bill of Materials (BOMs) that meet customer price and material to sell (MTS) targets
•Problem solve with cross-functional teams to remove roadblocks, manage stakeholder expectations, proactive communication

Our E-Systems team integrates industry-leading electronic, connectivity and autonomous vehicle technologies; software and cybersecurity expertise; and electrical distribution systems. Within our Connectivity business, demands for constant communication and information exchange with the vehicle continue to increase. Vehicle connectivity has evolved from connecting mobile devices with infotainment systems to the vehicle itself having an embedded, direct line of wireless communication connecting the vehicle with networks and objects (V2X, V2V, V2I, etc). The technologies we offer in in our ConnexUs portfolio include gateway modules and communication modules to manage both wired and wireless networks and data in vehicles. In addition to electronic modules, we offer software that includes cybersecurity, high accuracy positioning for automated and autonomous driving applications, roadside modules that communicate real-time traffic information and full capabilities in both DSRC and cellular protocols.
Required Experience and Skills:
•7+ years of Procurement background, including experience responding to RFQs and developing supply base strategies
•Strong influencing skills and ability to build lasting relationships across functions and layers in the organization
•Self-starter with a proactive, ownership mindset
•Attention to detail; comfort with analytics and Excel
•Ability to communicate concisely to internal and external audiences
•Problem solving / root cause analysis capabilities
•Excellent team player
Preferred Experience:
•Experience purchasing relevant electronic components
•Automotive and/or High Tech industry experience
