Position Description:
General Dynamics is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class IT Systems Engineer for a team launching a new, mission critical product for GDLS. This position will be responsible for the technical, operational, and regulatory aspects of the department's IT infrastructure including effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of this business units hardware, software, and related infrastructure in a 24x7 environment. This role requires high level of interaction with end-users requiring the ability to deliver customer centric service and support.
•Manage multiple, simultaneous projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule and mission scope
•Coordinate the development of assignments, quality assurance, and code releases
•Exceptional customer service and communication skills- helpful and calm under pressure
•Proactive attitude, loves to work in a fast-paced environment where the toolset is continuously evolving
•Possess Scripting skills or have desire to learn them; speci?cally Python, Perl, or Shell (bash, ksh, csh).
•In-depth knowledge of and experience with networking and/or systems technologies
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering field and 5+ years of experience
- Broad based knowledge of software systems and software requirements
- Strong background and understanding of product development, quality control, and product readiness requirements in hardware driven projects
- Excellent technical team management skills with a passion for quality
- Experience with leading management tools such as Atlassian Tool Suite
- Experience in a mixed OS environment (Windows / Linux)
- Experience with project planning, managing and documenting tools
- Experience working in highly regulated industries
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, and a professional attitude
- Proactive and detail-oriented with a strong team-oriented attitude
- Organized individual who has the ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects within tight deadlines and requires little to no supervision
- Experience working with or in a military or federal environment is highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong multi-tasking skills
