Position Description:
Inspector Vehicle/Electrical will perform the following:
Monitor the prototype build of vehicle assemblies to ensure conformance to engineering designs and specifications. Requires the ability to work with and interpret engineering drawings, sketches and vehicle manuals.
Travel to various military installations and GDLS field sites to inspect and record vehicle modifications, support trouble shooting and support Engineering Quality personnel as necessary.
Conduct in-process and final inspection of electrical harnesses and assemblies. Requires the ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and knowledge of the functional characteristics of electronic components.
Assist Vehicle Systems Quality personnel as required for vehicle testing.
Provide support to the various engineering disciplines as required for inspections including but not limited to weld inspection, hydraulic fluid inspection and component audits.
Maintain inspection records and documentation of vehicle activities including but not limited to vehicle deficiencies, serialized component information, vehicle logbooks.
Position Requirements:
Must be capable of demonstrating electrical competency.
Must successfully meet the anthropometric requirements for entering military vehicles.
Must be physically capable of climbing on/off, into and under vehicles including confined spaces.
Understanding and experience with mechanical components; understanding and familiarity with military vehicles a plus
Must be physically capable of lifting inspection equipment and items to perform duties.
Ability to work overtime as required to support program activity and requirements
Ability to work alternate shifts on occasion as required to support program activity and requirements
Travel required to out of state and international locations.
Must be familiar with basic computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office).
Certification in non destructive test methods a plus; solder training completion/certification also a plus
