The Electrified Propulsion Analysis Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing fuel economy, acceleration performance, capability (e.g. trailer tow) and drivability foundation analysis for new Electrified Propulsion Architecture concepts including Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Battery Electric Vehicles using computer modeling techniques and test data evaluation. The Electrified Propulsion Analysis Supervisor leads a team of engineers responsible for obtaining and analyzing input data, performing the related simulation and analyzing results for Electrified Propulsion Vehicles. The supervisor drives the optimization of Electrified Propulsion Architectures to maximize the benefit to FCA. In addition, the successful candidate works with counterparts in powertrain engineering such as Chief Engineers, COE Leads and others to communicate and achieve subsystem requirements and maximize opportunities. Finally, the supervisor presents these results in oral and written reports to executive leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
8 years of engineering experience
•Powertrain experience including knowledge of powertrain systems, controls, calibration, and drivability
•Experience analyzing and managing large and complex data sets
•Excellent management and leadership skills
•Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
Strong Matlab and Excel skills
•Experience creating virtual models to simulate performance, fuel economy, drivability and capability as well as correlate these models to real world results
•Familiarity with U.S., European and Chinese fuel consumption regulations and procedure
•Experience in evaluation of vehicle capability and drivability
•Knowledge of advanced powertrain technology
•Experience with electrified powertrains and modeling of electrified powertrains
•Experience with diesel powertrains and modeling of diesel powertrains
•Engine and/or transmission calibration and diagnostic experience
