PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Quality Technician works within and for the quality goals of the company. The Owner of this job verifies the conformance of products to customer requirements. This position is responsible for working with manufacturing to ensure customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct part inspection using contour graph equipment.
- Conduct cleanliness tests on parts per customer specifications.
- Conduct surface profile checks using a profilometer.
- Conduct surface profile checks using a topometer.
- Conduct part inspection using manual gages such as; thread gages, height stands and calipers.
- Complete required documentation such as inspection records, shift reports and other required paperwork.
- Communicate quality concerns to production leaders and assist with problem solving, if requested.
- Work with production to perform containment and sort activities as needed.
- Work with quality engineers to support continuous improvement activities.
- Storing inspection and other records appropriately
- Data entry into computer systems including Excel, SAP and Q-DAS
- Comply with Weber Automotive Employee Conduct and Work Rules; comply with all policies contained in the Employee Handbook

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 2-5 years’ experience in inspection or auditing role, preferred
- Experience with measurement tools (calipers, scales, gauges, etc.), preferred
- Understanding of problem solving techniques
- Willingness to learn and attend job related training
- Ability to work in a TEAM-oriented environment
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Must have good organizational skills and be able to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work under minimal supervision
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- ASQ Certified Quality Technician preferred
- ASQ Certified Quality improvement Associate preferred
- No Certifications required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.
