This position is responsible for executing all technical aspects of electric axle and geared system programs from concept to production launch.
Job Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross functional teams on electric axle and geared mechatronic system concepts and ensure all technical requirements are met
• Complete all necessary engineering design verification analyses including static and dynamic stress calculations, fatigue life, thermal studies, and vibration studies
• Support creation of solid models and drawings, perform installation studies, perform stack-ups and accuracy checks, and apply appropriate GD&T to product designs
• Complete Design Failure Mode & Effects Analyses
• Complete Design for Manufacturing & Design for Assembly studies
• Create and execute Design Validation Plans
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
• 5-10 years of relative mechatronic engineering experience required
• Experience leading the development of axle, drive or geared systems
• Hybrid electric systems experience
• Automotive or commercial vehicle experience
• Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design Failure Mode & Effects Analyses (DFMEA)
• Proficient in finite element analysis (FEA) tools
• Proficient in Creo 2.0 and Windchill 10.1
