Position Description:
This opening is for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in the design, development and integration SUSPENSION systems for track military vehicles. The individual will have to perform the following:
•Lead the integration of suspension systems on current and future tracked vehicle platforms
•Lead suspension performance and mobility analysis
•Design, select, integrate suspension components
•Act as primary technical POC on source selection and supplier oversight
•Track weight, cost, thermal, and power allocations
•Develop and manage drawing release schedule
•Coordinate Suspension System Prototype Build
•Technical assessment of vehicle suspension systems including semiactive and active systems
•Develop and release engineering design and development specifications for suspension system components
•Read and interpret technical drawings
•Prepare comprehensive technical reports and proposals
•Work with other engineering disciplines to exchange technical information and give direction to drafting and prototype shop personnel
•Prepare comprehensive technical reports and proposals
•Conduct engineering evaluations in a laboratory environment
Position Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline, Mechanical Engineering preferred and 6-9 years of applicable experience.
•Candidates must have a strong aptitude on suspension design and theory of operation
•Experience using solid modeling applications, prefer Pro-E
•Understanding of the fundamentals of springs, dampers, mechanics of materials, tires, wheels, track. track drive, steering and track tensioning systems
•Strong communication skills
•Work independently and in a team environment
•Ability to obtain security clearance.
•Ability to obtain a military vehicle safe work requirements entry authorization
•Some US and foreign travel may be required
