Position Description:
A Scheduler / Planner in the Materials organization is responsible for ensuring the right quantity and quality of raw material and other resources are available for production through the accurate and timely completion of the following responsibilities:
Plan, schedule and monitor detailed parts, sub assemblies and end items through each step of the manufacturing process.
Analysis of manufacturing schedules to determine the components / assemblies to be released on manufacturing orders.
Analysis of Bills of Material to determine nesting requirements, coordinating with Tool Engineering as required.
Create, release, and approve manufacturing orders within a computerized system.
Distribute manufacturing orders to related production areas and monitor the manufacturing orders to insure timely completion to customer schedules.
Update Oracle attributes for components / assemblies.
Interface with manufacturing on-floor issues.
Update product-related schedules and prioritize work flow of the manufacturing floor management and other planners / representatives.
Revise schedules as required to enhance material availability and maximize plant performance.
Involvement and support of the Whole Systems Business Model in a Salary Bargaining Unit (SBU) position.
Position Requirements:
Associate of Science Degree required in Business, Manufacturing, Materials / Supply Chain, or Operations; Bachelor degree preferred.
Must be U. S. Citizen
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Prefer 2+ years; experience in material management.
Prior working experience in Material Resource Planning (MRP) required.
Proficient PC skills in MS Word and Excel required; Oracle experience preferred.
Capable of entering large volumes of data into a materials management system.
Ability to work closely with Production Supervision and all members of the Scranton team.
Ability to work in production environment, including:
Be able to climb steps and ladders and lift up to 20 lbs.
Standing, bending, and stooping.
Working in and around dust, fumes, and noise.
Work in inclement weather.
