General Description: Engineering Intern/Co-op students at Tubelite, Inc. are considered to be an integral part of the Engineering staff and are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. Under guidance of the senior engineering staff, the students will be assigned to teams associated with ongoing production and Product Design programs including structural and applications engineering.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
•Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods.
•Performs detailed and/or routine engineering assignments involving established calculations, tests and analysis.
•Performs a variety of routine tasks that will improve the individual's familiarization with the engineering methods, practices, and programs of the Company.
•Preparation and modification of engineering drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor.
•Miscellaneous technical data generation and analysis.
•Interface with other internal organizations such as manufacturing, marketing, service, product support and purchasing, as well as external customers and suppliers.
•Supports manufacturing and operations functions with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, problem identification, problem resolution activities.
•Assists Engineers with large projects, as needed.
•Plans and controls all activities so as to follow established safety protocol and to provide an accident-free work place.
•Conducts work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations.
•Performs other duties as directed by management.
Position Requirements:
•Pursuing a Bachelor's degree and have completed sophomore year with declared major in Mechanical, Product Design, or Manufacturing Engineering.
•Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills required.
•Must display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
•Strong computer skills desired including experience with CAD and Microsoft Office application.
•Ability to read documents/prints and interpret them with a high level of detail.
