Description
Operate capper, dud detector, x-ray, and metal detector in a safe, efficient manner ensuring product being manufactured adheres to our quality specifications and customer expectations; Adjust and test equipment as needed and accurately document findings; Immediately notify the appropriate people if product does not conform to standards. Must have own tools and be able to use them properly. Must develop an understanding of the different products run on the line.
Essential Functions
•Watch for misaligned caps, make adjustments
•Adjust headspace (for vacuum),
•Check both headspace and vacuum throughout day, complete documentation
•Set up dud detector and ensure operating correctly throughout day, complete documentation
•Adjust belt / line speeds
•Adjust steam output
•Ensure correct caps / jars for product are being run
•Adjust security (tightness) of cap
•Adjust sealing shoe pulley
•Adjust line from filler to capper
•Change side and sealing belts; adjust sealing pressure heads
•Set up capper - adjust for size (caps/jars)
•Complete necessary paperwork including accurate log data and downtime information
•Adjust metal detector for product being run (size, sensitivity, phasing) and ensure operating correctly throughout day, complete documentation
•Troubleshoot capper when not working properly, make necessary adjustments, confer with maintenance as needed
•Set up plastic capper and troubleshoot
•Run rejects through x-ray - confirm not false/positive
•Other tasks as assigned
