Peter-Lacke USA is seeking a highly-motivated, mechanically skilled individual to fill the position of Facility Maintenance Technician for our Troy, Michigan manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a background in commercial facilities maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and will possess the knowledge and ability to complete minor HVAC, plumbing and electrical repairs. This position offers the right candidate room to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and move into a more advanced position as the company grows. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for plant equipment and property maintenance and repair by performing facility and equipment troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance and installation of new equipment.
The Facility Maintenance Technician will also perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair of paint manufacturing equipment including; mixers, horizontal mills, ovens, dust collectors, filling equipment, pallet jacks, pumps, hoses and drum handling. We are prepared to train for this aspect of the position.
- Maintain facility and grounds to ensure proper structural and mechanical functionality.
- Troubleshoot, diagnosis and repair defective manufacturing equipment.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Clean vessels, pumps, hoses and other manufacturing equipment as needed.
- Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical repairs and painting or other handyman tasks as necessary.
- Develop and maintain routine maintenance schedule adhering to requirements ensuring proper functionality of manufacturing and laboratory equipment.
- Recommend tools, equipment or methods to improve the safety and timeliness of repairs.
- Compile parts list and determine best suppliers for parts and tools necessary for repairs.
- Perform routine janitorial tasks and grounds maintenance such as trash removal, cleaning, lawn care, etc.
- Conduct general equipment and facility upkeep and other tasks as assigned.
- Other assigned tasks as needed.
- Recognize and practice safe work habits in compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
- May be exposed to routing industrial health and safety hazards and will be required to use respirator, eye protection, safety shoes and other designated safety items as necessary.
- Complies with all OSHA Safety and Health regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial facilities maintenance, preferrable in a manufacturing environment.
- Good working knowledge of mechanical systems and trade skills of plumbing and electrical.
- Ability to understand and translate information from mechanical and electrical drawings to service and repair machinery to meet specifications.
- Degree from Technical School Preferred.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
