Peter-Lacke USA is seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of Technical Service Representative. The Technical Service Representative will be responsible for understanding both Peter-Lacke and customer technical requirements. This individual will work to develop, define and implement Technical Service strategies to achieve customer requirements, working predominantly at customers' sites. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated technical support skills in automotive coatings, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience. This position offers the right candidate room to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and move into a more advanced position as the company grows.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing daily customer activities such as inventory control and process management. Support customer engineering trial activities, program management and improve line performance.
- Develop Technical Service strategies to help the organization achieve strategic goals and objectives.
- Work closely with the customer in identifying potential or immediate problems; proposing corrective actions, which bring problem resolution to closure.
- Provides timely written communications including monthly reports, summarizing major customer contacts and meeting results, along with action plans to ensure that accurate information is available to facilitate strategic decision making within the Peter-Lacke organization.
- Serves as a resource for gathering market information, competitive analysis, bench-marking data to assist in setting and developing sales strategies.
- Contributes to overall team effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary, recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
- Responsible for monitoring production standards and implementing appropriate quality control measures. Activities will involve data collecting, problem solving and communications with all levels of management for assigned accounts
- Complies with all standard policies and procedures for health and safety.
- Promotes and uses the elements of the companies’ quality system by being familiar with its philosophy and disciplines. This position as with all positions in the company has the responsibility and authority to prevent the occurrence or recurrence of product nonconformity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Science Degree or equivalent of education and minimum 3-5 years of automotive coatings experience.
- Exhibit strong skills in paint applications, automated coating systems and material handling equipment.
- Ability to work effectively under fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to present recommendations and summarize issues. Must have proven skills to problem solve.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word and Office applications
