The Vehicle Integration Responsible (VIR) will lead the integration activities on an assigned program. This includes mentoring, coaching, and training direct reports. Additionally, this individual will lead a team of direct and indirect reports to understand customer requirements, develop functional objectives, establish targets, confirm feasibility and demonstrated performance of all systems, lead umbrella and Vehicle Integration team meetings and translate Voice-of-Customer to 1st tier specifications (Level 1). The VIR will also lead the customer functional objectives (CFO) and target setting processes, resolve issues, ensure tradeoff proposals properly balance CFOs and targets, establish DVP based mule/VP build quantities and priorities, manage the engineering vehicle fleet and ensure achievement of allocation targets and optimization of resources. Responsibilities also include developing complete and robust vehicle level DVP&R’s that are executed on time and supported by on-time vehicle orders; ensuring that all vehicle builds have completed integrity and signoff prior to custodian delivery; leading benchmarking of competitive vehicles to establish design and functional targets that are aligned with strategic vision of the vehicle; and will actively participate, support and lead the CCP process up to and through feasibility brief and program approval.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
•Ten years of experience as an engineer with emphasis on design release, and system development across multiple engineering disciplines and launch conditions
•Leadership skills that excel in driving for discontinuity, acting quickly and decisively, accountability, coaching, and team building
•Strong communication skills demonstrated in both verbal, written, and presentation formats
•Knowledge and passion for product development
•Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program, and/or MBA
•Experience in design, development and releasing, vehicle engineering, and/or vehicle program management
•Background in developing and testing of products at a vehicle level
