Primary Responsibilities
The goal for the Land Rights and ROW Agent is to build the skills, through additional training and experience, to competently negotiate the acquisition of property interests needed for construction projects, and relocating persons and businesses displaced by some of these acquisitions, in compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn. The initial responsibilities of this position will be to both perform and coordinate technical services for Right of Way (ROW) projects including ownership determinations, tracking project status through spreadsheets and mapping, oversight of document preparation and administrative support, as needed. Responsibilities will also include title review and determinations, landowner engagement, voluntary and statutory (Eminent Domain) negotiation for land rights, conducting closings, coordinating restoration and damage settlements, and providing relocation assistance under the Uniform Act. The primary office location will be located in one of HDR's offices located in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, or Indiana, but the candidate must be willing to travel as required.
This role requires attention to detail and organization as well as exceptional communication skills. 5 years of industry experience in title, survey, utilities, land use and as a ROW Agent, is required. Experience in any of these areas above the minimum requirements is beneficial.
