The Driveline Release Engineers (D.R.E.) responsibilities include but are not limited to the design, development, timing and validation of driveline systems (e.g. halfshafts, driveshafts, NVH dampers and transfer cases). The Engineers responsibilities also include analyzing the design to ensure it meets vehicle functional requirements, vehicle packaging and working with the extended vehicle teams for production implementation and competitive benchmarking. The D.R.E. will be responsible for managing supplier development activities, quality improvements, weight reduction, cost reduction, development and validation of assigned components using predictive tools during design phase through component and vehicle level testing prior to launch, and communicating technical product status and competitor benchmarking to management.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Aerospace/Aeronautical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Minimum five years of design/release experience in automotive components
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
•Driveline Systems (halfshafts, driveshafts and transfer cases)
•Knowledge of FCA product development processes
•Experience with NX and Teamcenter
•Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
•Reactive Green Belt
•Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
•Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
•Knowledge of Shainin Red X or other reactive quality tools
•Automotive assembly plant and/or program launch experience
•Self-starter and motivated to produce results
•Excellent program management and communication skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
