Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for designing electrical components for use in complex Harman products, these components will be managed as part of a Global component library. This position will also perform a critical role as a Librarian, responsible for managing content in the component Library. The Librarian will process the electronic component requests as part of the Configuration Management team. The position will create and maintain required data in global ECAD library and in SAP. This position is the North American subject matter expert on electrical component and ECAD library questions. The position will support global engineering teams across multiple Divisions and product lines.
Job Responsibilities:
•Interpret component data sheets to design electrical and electro-mechanical component parts for use in Harman products
•Evaluation of key design factors such as Cell, Schematic Symbol, Footprint, and Pad Stack required
•Utilize sound decision making skills to determine component reuse for new or carryover product designs
•Develop schematic symbols and PCB footprints for component parts utilizing Mentor Graphics software application.
•Management of an ECAD Library for electrical components in collaboration with Global team members as well as Engineering, Quality and Procurement departments
•Creation and maintenance of SAP material master and attributes for ECAD components required for engineering, manufacturing, and quality
•Interpretation and application of technical data sheets and specifications
•Subject matter expert for global ECAD Library questions
•Providing support and training to local engineering teams in regards to electrical components and ECAD library
Basic Qualifications:
•Technical Associates or Bachelors degree required
•Proficient use of CAD systems, preferably Mentor Graphics tools
•Knowledge of PCBA design and electronic/mechanical design principles
•Base knowledge in schematics and hardware layout
•Basic knowledge of component application and manufacturing techniques
•Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
•SAP knowledge is preferred

•Willingness to travel 10%
•Willingness to work in an office in Novi, MI
•Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
