Job Description
The Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Supervisor is responsible for supporting and improving Tubelite environmental, health and safety processes and results. The OHS Supervisor will introduce and assure compliance of OEHS policies and procedures that reduce injuries and accidents, minimize our operations' impact on the environment, and meet OSHA and MDEQ regulations. The OHS Supervisor may be located in Reed City or Walker, MI.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
•Works collaboratively with HR and Operations teams to coordinate and monitor programs and policies for employee health. Creates, implements, ensures compliance with and regularly updates EHS policies and procedures that comply with applicable local, federal and state regulations
•Manages worker injuries, through obtaining and assessing information related to the injury, medical condition and treatment. Coordinate a return to work plan based on length of disability and prognosis for the injury.
•Manages workers compensation insurance process through notification, claim management and communication to company leadership and associates. Coordinates short term disability payments.
•Develops employee health education programs and provide one-on-one counseling on employee health concerns.
•Keeps key team members informed regarding any issue(s) that may affect the financial/productivity measures of Tubelite
•Performs on-site drug testing program, coordinate and administer flu shots, and the worksite wellness programming--both through Apogee and through customized local programs
•Manages education and deployment of Tubelite First Responders
•Regularly performs workplace audits, including stormwater inspections, job safety analyses (JSAs) and PPE assessments
•Applies Lean principles in own work performance and drive Lean applications in company operations.
•Tracks, schedules and provides EHS training to all employees and temporary workers, including acquiring services of outside trainers when necessary; audits safety training effectiveness
•Prepares and reports EHS training and audit information to management; analyzes trends and formulates preventive strategies
•Utilizes all teams to help ensure compliance, audit processes, identifies improvement opportunities, problem solves, recommends actions and ensures that fixes are completed in a timely manner
•Investigates environmental incidents, accidents and injuries; establishes problem solving to identify root causes and implements corrective actions for unsafe conditions and practices
•Assures environmental testing, sampling and reporting meets deadlines and regulatory limits
•Coordinates environmental compliance activities including remedial action plan implementation, hazardous waste management, stormwater discharge monitoring and well water distribution
•Oversees emergency preparedness planning and environmental incident response
•Facilitates safety committee meetings; leads regular safety communications to insure the safety of all Tubelite associates. Actively participates with Apogee's Safety Committee and other professional organizations to remain up-to-date regarding safety programs and developments
•Champions behavior-based safety programming (ie, Safe Start)
•Prepares and assures adherence to EHS budget; purchases EHS equipment and services
•Maintains and protects confidential information
•Supervises EHS individuals, providing guidance and performance feedback
•Maintains individual competence in health/nursing practice

Position Requirements
•Bachelor's degree
•At least 5 years of experience in a health and safety role
•Healthcare certification/license preferred (RN, EMT, Paramedic)
•Health and safety certification preferred (OSHA 30-hour, ASP/CSP)
•Proven ability to teach and train
•Independent "self-starter," requiring minimal supervision and guidance
•Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills and communication skills (written and verbal)
•MDEQ stormwater operator and water distribution certification preferred
•Supervisory or other leadership experience
•Willingness to regularly travel between Walker, MI, Reed City, MI and Dallas, TX facilities
•Ability to plan and manage multiple projects
