Description
The Team Leader is an experienced Assembly or Warehouse team member, cross-trained in minimum of 4 Department positions. The Team Leader acts as the Facilitator for the shift and conducts team meetings. The Team Leader fills in at various positions for employees who are on leave or vacation. This position provides leadership to the shift and also acts as the back-up shift Supervisor.
Responsibilities
•Conducting shift start-up meetings, reviewing daily metrics with team(s)
•Audits conformance to SOP for all department team members
•Write, train and audit SOPs/work instructions
•Help lead 5S actions
•Fill in at various Assembly positions when needed
•Fill in as the shift Supervisor when needed, primarily covering for vacations and weekends
•Complete production and data collection documents
•Daily report out at team and plant meetings as required.
•Management of stock out and shortage process/refilling of shortage, stocked out orders as necessary.
•Tracking status of orders to completion
•Making adjustments to team member job assignments as needed.
•Supports and leads CIP activities as needed.
Requirements
•Minimum 1 year Assembly experience
•Cross-trained in minimum 4 Assembly positions that include: Builder, Material Handler, Saw Operator, Lock Bench, Inspector and Pack-out
•Demonstrated ability to correctly and efficiently build doors
•CNC experience, strongly preferred
•Basic computer skills
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Ability to coach and train other Assembly positions
•Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
•Demonstrated excellent attendance and dependability
•Excellent communication and teamwork skills
•Strong math skills, including ability to use fractions
•Be willing to work flexible hours, when required
•Ability to stand for minimum of 8 hours
•Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
•Ability to repetitively bend, lift, and twist
