Position Description:
The Technology Development Lead shall;
- Understand the emerging technology landscape (technologies and tech community), particularly in the fields of robotics, autonomy, AR, and advanced electronics and helps to ideate promising new solutions and opportunities.
- Decompose Capability Needs (led/developed by the Advanced Engineering Group) into component and technology solutions that can than be pursued
- Own the "Technology Roadmaps"
- Be responsible for developing new business relationships and opportunities - including collaborative technology development in a "future-focused" community
- Lead and stay aware of APT outreach to technology suppliers, partners, academia, etc.
- Work across APT & LoB organizations to identify needed team members and foster collaboration
- Perform "synchronization" of activities to minimize waste and overlap (Provide Leadership Focus and Oversight)
- Lead an efficient Bid & Proposal Initiative designed to capture CRAD opportunities - help grow our people and provide differentiating capabilities.
- Develops a Proposal Plan to reduce cost, schedule and complexity for bidding tech programs (inclusive of a past performance, small business, RFI database...templates, partners, etc.)
- Work with APT to update and maintain all roadmaps
Position Requirements:
- Masters in EE/SW/Robotics or equivalent outstanding technical experience particularly in fields of robotics, autonomy, AR, communications, and advanced electronics
- Strong interest and enthusiasm for emerging technology
- Track-record of successful technology development
- Very strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience w/new businesss development, and with establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships
- Experience enaging w/internal and external customer leaders
- Demonstrated innovation
- Ability to recruit and mentor new employees
- Desire to lead with a spirit of continous improvement
- Demonstrated initiative and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be a U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)
- Occasionally must lift and carry equipment weighing 30 lbs.
- Possess an Engineering or Science Degree
