Northern Michigan University is seeking applications for an Assistant Director of Global Campus-Academic Support Services in Extended Learning and Community Engagement. The position will manage daily operations regarding all aspects of the Global Campus academic support service process for domestic distance education students including non-traditional and adult learners. Oversight includes academic support, counseling, and advising for post-admission and degree evaluations for pre-admission Global Campus students.
Minimum qualifications: Master’s Degree preferably in Counseling, Psychology, Higher Education, or Public Administration. Three years higher education administration work experience and two years of experience in one of the following areas (can be concurrent): academic advising, academic counseling or student services.
Knowledge/skills/abilities required: Knowledge and experience advising or counseling. Knowledge and/or experience working with non-traditional and/or adult education students. Effective communication skills, both written and oral. Effective public speaking abilities. Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, email, and database applications. Strong data collection and reporting skills.
The position is traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required. This is a grant-funded position ending 8/31/2020, subject to renewal. The targeted salary range is $44,640-$49,000.
