We are currently looking for mid-level Buyer to join our Commodity Planning team in Holland, MI.
As a Commodity Buyer/Planner, you will:
Place purchase order for assigned commodity group with approved suppliers to ensure purchased materials are in place to support manufacturing. Manage purchase orders and maintain supplier relationships. Expedite orders through the supply chain. Manage inventory of assigned parts. Participate in supplier negotiations and commodity teams to implement proactive procurement strategies. Manage complex supply chains or high-risk commodities. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and teams. Train and mentor members of the team.
Do you have the following required qualifications?
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, Finance, Communications or Engineering.
- 3 years of purchase order management, supplier relations experience, commodity or production planning, inventory management or customer service in a manufacturing environment is required.
- If no degree listed above, 11 years of experience in purchase order management, supplier relations experience, commodity or production planning, inventory management or customer service in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
Do you have the following preferred qualifications?
- Experience with purchase order management and working with suppliers.
- Experience in electronics, automotive, or furniture manufacturing environment.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- SAP planning experience.
- Project management experience.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
- Understanding of JIT concepts and make to order manufacturing environment.
- General knowledge of supply chain functions.
- Lean background and continuous improvement experience.
- Root case problem solving skills.
- Ability to perform cost benefit analysis.
