The Director of Policy Research will lead the company's legislative and regulatory policy research team. To ensure internal and external clients possess a full appreciation of the intersection of legislative and regulatory policies at the local, state and federal levels, the DPR will lead a team of analysts to research, track and analyze current issues at the state and national levels and make informed recommendations in support support of client decision making related to legislative and/or regulatory policy initiatives. The goal is to actively engage stakeholders to help the company better understand and respond to legislative and regulatory policy issues in an integrated and proactive manner.To support this effort, the DPR will take an active role in relationship management and engagement with the national trade associations and stakeholder organizations to improve and streamline touchpoints.
Responsibilities:
•Support the development of policy position papers and/or talking points for lobbying purposes, executive use, and/or corporate tactic development. Develop a stakeholder "toolkit" to foster process understanding and trust. Direct options development process and inform senior management team on impact of changes in technology, regulatory and public policies on near-term performance.
•Identify legislative and regulatory policies at the state and federal levels that the company should engage on. Work with policy analyst direct reports and internal SMEs to analyze potential impacts and coordinate with SGA, FGA, RA and internal issue leads. Communicate company policy positions of importance to internal and industry stakeholders in an effort to incorporate our perspective into their plans.
•Develop quantitative and qualitative business plan matrix to track and report on strength and success of work. Partner with rates, finance and other subject-matter experts to assess impact of energy policy proposals on customer rates, and Company investments, competitive position and operations.
•Support state and federal lobbying on current and anticipated near-term legislative and regulatory policy issues.
•External stakeholder relationship management
Requirements:
•Bachelor Degree in applicable field.
