The Manager- Supplier Quality Program Management manages a group of several new, mid-cycle and carryover vehicle programs that are manufactured in NAFTA region and at FCA affiliate facility located outside of the NAFTA region. This position is responsible for ensuring key quality milestones/goals are met for all supplier components involved. This Senior Professional level role will manage all aspects of the advanced supplier quality functions as it pertains to FCA affiliate vehicle projects. This individual will manage several programs and lead a small group of program managers to work cross functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and purchasing through the full life cycle of components. This includes, but is not limited to, early source package approvals, supplier eligibility, supplier selection, launch phase and into production.
The Manager, at all times, is considered the senior SQ contact for NAFTA FCA plants, FCA affiliate plants in other regions and also the vehicle team for any concerns regarding the quality of parts that we receive from our suppliers. This role also manages the work of the SQ program managers and works directly with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and quality to ensure non-conforming parts are handled properly and follow FCA procedures and guidelines. Excellent candidates for this role are skilled engineers and are able to develop, present, and explain program status updates to senior leadership, manage multiple individual work teams, work globally, and are recognized strong communicators.
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
•Lead the collection, coordinate and present program level status updates on supplier quality activities for designated programs
•Work with suppliers and FCA manufacturing plant personnel to manage the containment and root cause analysis studies being coordinated at the FCA manufacturing facility
•Educate FCA plant staff on FCA supplier quality systems as required
•Manage supplier quality program reporting requirements for program reviews
•Manage program risk assessment (SPRE — Supplier Process Risk Evaluation — RPN) executive summaries
•Manage the production part approval process (PPAP) for running changes as needed on current production programs
•Facilitate the funding and deployment of safe launch strategies/problem resolution reviews and facilitate early sourcing process and supplier selection
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university; Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical/Biomedical/Biomechanical/ Bioengineering, Chemical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Mechatronics may also be considered
•Minimum 8 years of work experience in supplier quality, product quality, product engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
•Ability to travel up to 20% within the NAFTA region and globally as required
•Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite software
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Engineering or Master’s in Business Administration
•Bachelor of Science with a minimum 3.0 GPA
•Green Belt or Black Belt skills/certification (Red X/Shainin)
•Quality certification
•Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
•Effective written and verbal communication skills
•Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
•Creative problem solving ability and a results orientation
•Comfortable with complex technical analysis
•Experience as a supplier quality and/or product design responsible lead engineer
