The Industrial Engineer (In-plant Methods and Standards) will assist the plant Industrial Engineering Manager and Supervisor in providing other plant functions and personnel with technical services to maintain efficient levels of lean manufacturing and manning. The Engineer will work with the plant and AME to develop the new processes, operating budgets and industrial engineering activities between plant and staff. Identify/eliminate waste and perform time and motion studies. Travel requirements are estimated at 0-20% of the time, with most travel local to the Detroit area.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Management preferred
•Advanced degree desired
•Experience in Industrial Engineering implementing lean practices in manufacturing environment, preferably Powertrain
•Excellent communication both orally and in writing, computer and problem solving/analytical skills required
•Successful candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team, self-motivated, and be able to interface with all levels of mangement and labor
•Travel requirements esimated at 0-20% of the time, with most travel local to the Detroit area
