The Engine Systems Cost Engineer is responsible for estimating and evaluating cost and tooling for new and current production components. Engine systems engineering components and systems include the engine cooling system, fuel system, air induction system and the exhaust system. Responsibilities include developing cost/tooling for sourcing new components and cost collaboration of design changes with suppliers and engineering. Responsibilities also include tooling evaluation and asset verification. Local travel may be required to review suppliers manufacturing plant layout and processes in support of the creation of “should” cost models.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Finance/Business from an ABET accredited university
•5 or more years of automotive product development experience in design and/or costing experience
•Experience in activity based costing or being responsible for design & release of Engine Systems components
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing from an ABET accredited university
•Negotiation skills
•Excellent communication skills
•Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
•Experience in a plant environment with experience manufacturing engine cooling systems and fuel systems
