Segment - Signal & Power Solutions
Signal & Power Solutions reflects the growing significance of next-generation architectures with high-speed data and electrical power distribution as the foundation necessary for future mobility. We supply "the nervous system" of the vehicle, providing the complete design, manufacturing, and assembly of vehicle electrical systems. This includes wiring harnesses, connection systems and cable management solutions.
Summary:
The Aptiv Electrical Centers Electronic Engineering team has an opportunity for a entry-level Systems Engineer at our Auburn Hills location. Under the direction of the EC Product Engineering Electronic Supervisor, the candidate will will be responsible for system development for electronic automotive applications with all OEM's. The candidate will also require strong electrical/electronic skills in the areas of hardware and embedded software, and tool usage will include Doors, Polarian, and Jira. The candidate shall be organized and have strong communication skills to be used in interfacing with customer engineering organization to support the gathering of technical requirements. Additional coursework or internship in systems engineering is a plus.
Description:
•Develop Electrical Centers (EC) products with integrated electronics with goal to win business.
•Interface with customers to understand technical requirements and integrate electrical centers products onto vehicle platforms.
•Assist in the development of customer specific requirements for electrical centers products and development of test procedures.
•Create customer technical presentations to effectively sell new products/systems.
•Collaborate with Aptiv Marketing to create and show properties for industry and customer events (e.g. SAE Congress).
•Develop new technologies and designs using Aptiv's ADP (Advanced Development Processes) and TDP (Technical Development Processes), as applicable.
•Create circuit schematics and layouts using CAE tools.
•Create specification for electronics and related components.
•Oversee lab evaluation and coordinate validation testing of automotive and commercial vehicle electronic products.
•Develop project plans and timelines.
•Ability to travel as required (i.e. domestic travel ~ 4 times annually, international travel ~ 2 times annually).

Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
•1+ years of experience designing electronic products with embedded microcontrollers.
•1+ years of demonstrated experience using systems engineering tools such as Doors, Polarian or Jira.
•1+ years of demonstrated experience and knowledge of international and OEM automotive standards.
•1+ years of demonstrated experience and knowledge of embedded control software, software development processes and communication protocols.
•1+ years of demonstrated experience and knowledge of C, C++ compilers, assembly language programming, debugging, testing and verification techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master's in Electrical Engineering.
•Functional Safety experience.
