Summary of Position:
Performs complex accounting duties requiring an advanced knowledge of general accounting procedures. Involves completing Month End close procedures and coordinating the activities within the department as well as throughout Tubelite. Reviews and verifies the accuracy of account classifications assigned to various records. Develops and recommends improved accounting methods and procedures. Coordinates accounting matters with other departments or locations. Acts as a leader of SOX efforts throughout Tubelite. Will be required to back up month end functions on the weekend of close.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
•Responsible for posting journal entries, preparing month end reports and completing reconciliations of assigned Balance Sheet accounts
•Responsible for Invoicing, Cash Application and/or Account Payable functions
•Review and analyze data/processes and make suggestions for improvement within Accounting Services as well as throughout Tubelite
•Ensure the integrity of the information supplied to others from the Accounting Services department. (Reports, system information, validation of the GL)
•Complete the annual Manufacturing Census, Financial and Tax Work papers
•Prepare monthly, quarterly and annually the Sales and Use Tax returns
•Perform general accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education and Experience --
•BA in Finance or Accounting
•Minimum of a year experience in General Accounting Methods
•1-2 years Journal Entry and Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience

•Ability to effectively analyze and interpret general business data
•Effective written and verbal communications skills
•Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
•Strong organizational skills
•Ability to prioritize work
•Computer literate, proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel software
•Excellent attendance
•Working knowledge of GAAP
•Understanding of and experience with FASB requirements.
•Knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting Methods from Book and Tax Requirements
•Working understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley
