Job Description:
We are looking for motivated candidates with high energy, positive attitude and a desire to lead change. There are opportunities in both the manufacturing plant as well as in the central Industrial Engineering group. In the manufacturing plant, the candidate will work with manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations and UAW employees to improve cycle times, job designs and layout of the plant. In the central Industrial Engineering group, the candidate will work with the manufacturing engineers to coordinate and set up manufacturing for new implementation. There is ability to work with global team members and global travel.
This position:
· Designs or improves operations to ensure compliance with ergonomic and other health and safety requirements
· Develops a cost baseline and analyzes value streams using analytical tools to lead the development of continuous improvement plans for areas of responsibility
· Continually improves productivity through an organized implementation of standardized work improvements, machine or operator utilization improvements, lost time reduction, OA & FTQ improvements, and other lean manufacturing system best practices
· Leads the implementation of new programs or process changes by working with the plant teams and other functions to ensure a coordinated approach
· Designs standardized work, material handling, buffer systems and layouts and ensures systems remain effective as plant conditions and customer requirements change
· Works with other engineers to design machines and operator jobs to meet required production rates and trouble shoots production problems
· Develops and maintains process documentation (Capacity plans, standardized work, routings, layouts)
