The primary focus of the Powertrain Stockrooms Supervisor will be to manage the daily operations of the three Powertrain stockrooms (1C, 1K & Transmission) and to supervise ten UAW Salaried Bargaining Unit stock keepers. The Supervisors responsibilities’ will include but are not limited to supporting several Powertrain areas including Engineering, Testing, Engine Build, Transmission Lab, and the Chelsea Proving Grounds. In addition, the Powertrain Stockrooms Supervisor will work directly with other areas such as Vehicle Garages, non-powertrain stockrooms, shipping and receiving and the Detroit Office Warehouse. The Stockrooms Supervisor responsibilities also include workplace organization, prioritization of workload, regular inspection of the work areas, coordinating ordering, receiving, stocking and pulling material for various types of engineering builds and testing, communicating with product engineering teams concerning quality and procedure improvements, managing overtime requests to meet budget and program timing and leading WCM initiatives and board reviews. The Supervisor will manage the operation for safety, quality of work, efficiency, cost and productivity. The Powertrain Stockrooms Supervisor will have direct involvement with inventory management, bill of material and shipping/receiving issues.
Basic Qualifications:
•Minimum of an Associate’s degree
•3 years of supervisory experience
•Experience with inventory management
•Goal-oriented and a self-starter with the ability to manage in a team-based structure
•Ability to interact with employees at all levels within all areas of the facility — from hourly represented employees to senior management as required
•Strong work ethics
•Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills
•Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite applications
•Ability to coach, mentor and develop team members
•Ability to multi-task; working on multiple jobs/programs at the same time
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
•5 years of supervisory experience
•Supervision of UAW-represented employees
•Experience with FCA Mainframe, PDS, SharePoint and PentaSAP applications
•MOPAR ordering experience
•Experience supporting WCM and continuous improvement initiatives
•Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
