Contract-to-Hire - Healthcare (Medical, Dental, Vision) - Competitive Hourly Rate

Description:
- Modifies or creates production software for the Global Powertrain Electronic Control (GPEC)
- Work in multi-disciplinary "Centers of Excellence (CoEs)"
- Delivering embedded software for the GPEC ECU family
- Provide status on changes to the components
- Responsible for related to "Vehicle Functions (VFs)"and issue resolution status to Vehicle Controls technical lead, a COE Leader, or Project Management Coordinators (PMCs)
- Participate in issue investigations, algorithm development and support FMEA development for new control strategies with system engineers
- Use software engineering process to develop the vehicle control software, Model-In-the-Loop (MIL), Lauterbach and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) instrumentation or a vehicle or other data sources to perform unit test of the new software
- Participate in CPU bandwidth testing and ECU memory usage reporting
- Work with various Configuration Management tools, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test equipment, and an internal Calibration database tool
- Develop, update and maintain process and procedure documents
Requirements:
- MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics/Mathematics
- 5 years of automotive engineering experience of embedded Controls/Software experience
- Advanced degree and/or academic research in a related field may count towards experience requirement
- Demonstrated adherence to a defined software development process
- Familiarity with microprocessor-based controls and development tools (emulators, debuggers, etc.)
- Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow experience
- Powertrain Controls / Software experience
- Experience with Client/Freescale 32-bit processors
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong project coordination skills
- Flexibility -- must be able to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels of management
Preferences:
- dSpace TargetLink / Embedded Coder experience
- Experience with Client/Freescale 32-bit processors
- Experience adapting application software into vendor/OEM Software
- Experience with AutoSAR and/or dSpace's System Desk
- Experience with Hard Real-time embedded applications
- Experience with Controller Area Networks (CAN)
- Automotive experience either at work or university, such as Formula SAE, SAE EcoCar, or other university automotive activity
- Good understanding of gasoline engine combustion
Travel & Driving:
- Will be required to drive a company car
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record
