The Baraga Casino is Hiring a Cage Shift Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cage Shift Manager is responsible for supervising the overall daily operations of the Cashier/Count Team areas, and monitoring the performance of the Cashier/Count personnel. In addition to providing excellent customer service, the Cage Shift Manager will prepare currency transaction reports to maintain compliance with Federal Title 31 regulations. This exempt position works all shifts as assigned including nights, weekends, and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED required (Waived for individuals 62 years of age and above who meet the requirements listed below).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to obtain a gaming license.
- Minimum two (2) years of Casino Cage experience with one (1) year of Vault Cashier experience is required.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Excellent customer/team member relation skills are required.
- Must be able to prepare written reports with acceptable punctuation, legible handwriting, and descriptive details of specific incidents.
- Requires knowledge of Tribal/State/Federal gaming regulations.
- Computer skills and knowledge of the Cage/Credit/Oasis applications is required.
- Must be willing and able to work all shifts, weekends and holidays and meet strict scheduled starting times.
- Must be able to travel as necessary.
- Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides prompt, friendly, courteous and quality service to our guests, addressing both guest and team member needs.
- Performs assigned cage and check cashing activities in accordance with the policies and procedures prescribed in the Minimum Internal Control Standards.
- Assists the Cage Manager in the performance of his/her duties. May fill in for the Cage Manager as needed.
- Assists Cage Manager with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, enabling the Cage to function more effectively.
- Supervise all Cage and check activities and the personnel of the assigned shift.
- Applies federal cash reporting requirements to comply with Title 31.
- Responsible for sensitive key box control during assigned shift.
- Verifies funds of cashiers on assigned shift and reviews all cashier discrepancies and follows up on reports.
- Held accountable to a high degree for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
- Ensures the integrity of financial data produced by all team members under his/her span of control.
- Accountable for all transactions in the cashier area.
- Reviews currency, coin and token inventory and reserve for daily operations.
- Responsible for training and counseling cashiers on assigned shifts.
- Arbitrates disputes within the cage and handles guest disputes, questions and acts as an overall source of information during their shift.
- Prepares daily shift log summary.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental matters, including guest’s records and transactions.
- Must be dependable and flexible with regards to work scheduling. Will assume position of cashier/vault cashier if necessary
- Must conform to all Tribal/State/Federal gaming regulations.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
