Department Summary
This position exists within the GAM-Gas Storage Integrity & Engineering Organization and is based in Jackson, Michigan. The department is responsible for the performance, rehabilitation, overall well integrity and strategic planning for the portfolio of 983 gas storage related wells statewide.
Job Description/Responsibilities
Senior Engineer Lead (Well Integrity) will lead/supervise three employees and provide general direction in the development of the Strategic Well Asset Management Program as well as direct the development of processes and procedures to ensure that the well rehabilitation program and new well construction adhere to API 1171 recommended practices. Primary focus will be on well rehabilitation planning and execution, new gas storage well design, drilling, completion, optimization of existing wells, risk and threat identification, plugging and abandonment and overall adherence to all applicable API Recommended Practices (specifically API RP 1171 and 6A).
The Senior Engineer Lead - Well Integrity and team will collaborate and report to the Principal Technical Analyst Lead and his team to ensure that all well-related activities and mitigative process are informed by API 1171 recommended practices.
Key responsibilities include:
•Direct management of the Well Rehabilitation Engineers
•Understanding of wellbore configuration and design
•Well rehabilitation design and support
•Engineering design and support of well rehabilitation, drilling and well abandonment operations.
•Collaboration with the Reservoir Engineering group to ensure alignment on critical data acquisition, data process, and data interpretation.
•Collaboration with the Integrity Assurance Engineering group to ensure regulatory compliance
•Collaboration with Reservoir Engineering to support well record management systems
•API 1171 standards conformance assurance
•API 6A standards conformance assurance
•Wellbore risk evaluation and identification
•Asset management planning
•Workover and well rehabilitation procedural process
•Subsurface well design
•Cost estimating and budgeting
•Interfacing with working interest partners, internal stakeholders, service companies and regulatory agencies
•Maintenance and of well records and Well View diagrams
Required Experience:
•Vast experience in gas well rehabilitation and gas well performance evaluation; including methods, techniques, and technology.
•Complete understanding of operational techniques for performing down-hole gas well logging, evaluation and interpretation of integrity logging.
•Experience and or knowledge of slickline/ E-line operation and evaluation, including methods, techniques, and new technology.
•Experience in drilling, monitor while drilling, directional drilling, mud engineering, pressure control, and all ancillary services required to drill a new storage well.
•The individual must have a strong experience in Oil & Gas production and Gas Storage operations. This position is based in Jackson, Michigan. Some travel is expected.
Requirements/Qualifications
•Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited program
•5+ years of applied field related experience.

•Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited program in Petroleum, Reservoir Engineering or Geological Engineering
•The ideal candidate must possess 15-20 years of combined experiene in Oil & Gas production and/or Gas Storage related operations, engineering and/or remedial project execution. This experience should be gas well specific with an emphasis on well rehabilitation, remediation techniques, methods, and processes along with an understanding of drilling operations, techniques and well completion.
•Understanding of wellbore designs and configurations. Existing well configurations will be reviewed by the Senior Engineer Lead - Well Integrity and supporting team for inconsistencies and nonconformance with API 1171 and 6A.
