Skills Needed:
- 5 or more years’ solid relevant industry experience in mechanical process design
- Knowledge of IBM compatible PC’s with required software (Solid AutoCAD experience is required)
- Experience with cycle time charts
- Experience in process development, tool design, and construction of welding and assembly equipment and technologies
- Experience working with an automotive supplier and Body-in-white experience will be given preference.
- Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering or related field is preferred, but not required.
General position description:
- To successfully define and establish all process information, relative to content, timing, quality, technology, and customer satisfaction.
- To integrate changes that occur in a timely manner
- To be active member of the process team created for any specific program
Responsibilities:
- Define, analyze, and maintain product information throughout the processing phase.
- Participate in the development of PLP’s, weld studies, Sequence of Operation Sheets
- Develop system and/or zone layouts drawings
- Create product sequence sheets (flow charts)
- Create and maintain time studies (machine & operator)
- Attend and participate in PFMEA and R&M meetings
- Communicate critical issues, both positive and negative, to the team members
- Document all conversations and communications with the customer via meeting minutes and project log and emails.
- Assist the Process team in clearly defining the process goals and objectives
- Ensure all process and product changes are tracked, logged, and submitted to the Process team
- Clearly communicate the impact of a change to the Process team
- Assist the Process team in preparation of all processing related material for customer meetings and presentations
- Adhere to all customer Standard Operation Procedures
- Maintain a positive, consistent, and cohesive relationship between all employees.
