Location: Livonia, MI
Roush Management, LLC, a full-service engineering company in Livonia, Michigan, seeks a Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Analyst to develop CAE models and perform high-level and detailed analyses for structural mechanics, dynamics, durability, and Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) to optimize automotive, heavy vehicle, amusement rides, and industrial applications (“Applications”).
Duties: perform small-deformation static analysis; use contact-based analysis to perform design for manufacturability and assembly; design and validate vehicle structure, frame, and chassis, to include crash development, durability, and NVH analysis; perform preliminary stress analyses and develop corresponding design concepts in CAD; improve accuracy of FEA by evaluating and customizing procedures for detailed component-level modeling; explore new methods of material characterization and develop new material models; perform optimization for weight savings and performance improvement of Applications; analyze physical test data, conduct testing, and develop recommendations to optimize Applications; correlate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models to physical test data and use correlated models to predict the performance of and drive mechanical structures design; perform thermo-mechanical analysis to predict and enhance the performance of Applications; use MATLAB to automate data process; perform large-deformation structural and crash occupant analysis. Minimum education required: Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering. Minimum experience required: 6 months’ experience in a mechanical engineering or design engineering position. Special skills required: Education must include one semester of study in each of the following: performing non-linear analysis using FEA; application of structural dynamics to predict large deformation analysis; application of computational plasticity to perform non-linear structural analysis; application of non-linear material properties, material models, and contact analysis to predict stresses and plastic strains; establishing boundary and loading conditions for thermo-mechanical analysis. In lieu of one semester of study in any of the above, will accept six months’ experience in the same. Education or experience may be acquired concurrently.
