Responsibilities:
- Perform Technical Publications duties to support development of Stryker, Abrams and Buffalo vehicle publications and be responsible for writing technical procedures to support modification, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical components for wheeled and tracked military vehicles. Source information will include engineering drawings and blueprints, LSAR data, provisioning data, photographs, videos, etc.
Qualifications:
- Able to author procedures using Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and/or Extensible Markup Language (XML) in Arbortext software.
- Familiar with Government publication specifications MILSTD 40051-1 and -2, MIL-STD 38784, and MIL-HDBK-1222C.
- Familiar with Maintenance Work Orders (MWOs), their intent, authoring, and application.
- Able to develop interactive electronic technical manual (IETM) tasks in accordance with the Document Type Definition (DTD). MIL-STD 2361C.
- Familiar with IETM viewers such as EMS NG, IADS.
- Able to collect source data and compile analysis/outline in preparation of Technical Manual (TM) development.
- Able to create descriptive information for principals of operation, controls; indicators, and theory (principals) of operation.
- Able to develop and create draft illustrations to support procedural/descriptive text.
- Able to develop Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC) in accordance with the Army two-level maintenance.
- Able to proofread and edit maintenance procedures to ensure quality.
- Familiar with general and special tools (for vehicle maintenance) and their use.
- Familiar with automotive or military maintenance/service tasks.
- Familiar with shop safety requirements and using personal protective equipment
- Can performing tasks as written on vehicle.
- Must have excellent customer rapport and ability to work with the customer.
- Able to meet quality standards as set forth by the department manager.
- Must self-edit all developed information.
- Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Familiar with Adobe Professional and all MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access).
- Able to work closely with other logistics engineers and TM personnel to ensure data will support all logistics deliverables (TM's, IETM's and LSA-36 data).
- Able to coordinate with Government and vendors on user level functional concerns.
- Able to work closely with Quality Assurance, Validation/Verification and the Government to resolve technical issues.
- Able to prepare reports and presentations from various data sources in support of company and Government reviews.
- Able to analyze reports and coordinate with Government, company, and vendor personnel to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
- Working knowledge and logistics experience with systems, subsystems, and components associated with heavy and/or medium mobile system operation and maintenance preferred.
- Familiarity with U.S. Army logistics support structure, policies and procedures.
- Understanding of ECP/CR/ERR process required.
- Available for weekday and/or weekend overtime required.
- Able to obtain a security clearance (if required by customer).

Education and Experience:
- Associates’ and 3-5 years of experience
- 3-5 years creating Operator, Maintenance, Diagnostics, NMWR procedures for military vehicles/systems/equipment.
