Position Description:
Sr. Engineer Test
•Key stakeholder within the Integrated Product Team (IPT). Responsible for analyzing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), providing end-user inputs at design reviews (PDR/CDR) and supporting new product development efforts.
•Experienced in planning and executing Engineering test events (automotive, electrical, environmental, hardware/software integration, ballistic, and mine blast) per GDLS and USG procedures.
•Leads integration, test, and Proof of Principle (PoP) events for new hardware production, field retrofits, and Reset/Overhaul activities.
•Test support is not limited to GDLS test sites; direct support at USG test sites is also required.
•Identifies functional problems and recommends solutions using proven Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) methodology.
•Analyzes test cases and provides daily progress reports via daily status test reports, engineering logs, and universal incident reports for hardware/software failures (FRACAS).
•Performs a variety of tasks to include extensive diagnostic troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems.
•May lead and direct the work of engineers & mechanics. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
•Provide subject matter expertise support and training to GDLS/USG fielding teams and test site personnel as required
•Support Manufacturing operations as it relates to system/sub-system operation, operational check-out and inspections, fault isolation, and process development for new system development. Others duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required. However, multiple years of applicable experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
•Must be familiar with Systems Engineering, Field Test, and final integration concepts, practices, and procedures.
•Hands-on experience with MRAP vehicles, with heavy emphasis on GDLS-FP Specialty Wheeled Vehicles, highly desired.
•Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software; proficiency using Creo strongly desired.
•Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to be the "face" of GDLS-FP to the end USG customer, particularly at USG-led test events.
•Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting performance issues and recommending viable solutions to the IPT, upper management, and end customer.
•Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
•Must be able to travel and willing to support extended assignments at test centers.
