We are seeking a Residential Designer with a passion for residential design to join our team. The primary focus of this position is home additions and new construction, initially meeting with clients in their homes or one of our six stores located throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our work is client focused, fast paced, and rewarding. At 41 Lumber, we build dreams, one project at a time.
Responsibilities
Residential Designers are responsible for:
- initial meetings with homeowners to begin the first phase of project development
- managing relationships with homeowners from initial contact through the completion of their construction project
- working with our in-house AIBD certified designer to create the final plans and specifications that ensure a successful home renovation for our clients
- prospecting for new lead opportunities in addition to running company generated leads
- maintaining superior knowledge of building codes in Michigan and Wisconsin
Education & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design is preferred.
- In home sales experience and CAD proficiency is preferred.
- Energy, enthusiasm and a willingness to help homeowners live better.
- Ability to communicate well with others.
- Detail-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Ability to organize and establish priorities.
- Results oriented a must.
- AKBD, CKBD, CMKBD, AIBD a plus.

Experience:
- Previous experience preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Previous construction experience and/or knowledge of residential construction techniques preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's (architectural or interior design preferred)
or
- 3 years similar experience
