Position Summary
The primary role of the Contract Supervisor for Goodwill is to plan, organize and control production in the contract department. This requires overall coordination of production, scheduling, quality assurance, coaching and development, and continuous improvement activities within the process areas. Responsible for leading the plant in its mission to meet or exceed all of our customers’ expectations. This is a hands-on position, requiring training team members and doing production as needed. They must model and promote the core values of the agency: People, Positivity, Collaboration and Success.
Primary Duties
- Support the mission and vision of Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Michigan
- Implement and control the production schedule
- Review and adjust the schedule where needed
- Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations
- Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to
- Monitor quality standards of products and implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives
- Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems
- Determine and implement improvements to the production process
- To keep an accurate perpetual inventory in excel
Education, Licenses, Certifications and Experience
- High school graduate or GED required
- 5+ years demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must have excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills; including the ability to interface with internal & external customer contacts. Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Must possess a high level of initiative and independent decision-making ability
- Must possess solid computer skills and working with production software, excel spreadsheets and other reporting applications
- Knowledge of quality systems and ISO standards with a focus on creating improvement standards that are based on the practices of root cause analysis
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work varied hours and days as business dictates, which may include weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Works in an environment with occasional high stress, and short deadlines
- Stands, walks, and sits throughout the work day
- Routinely bends, stoops, pushes, pulls, reaches forward and upward, kneels, twists, turns throughout the day
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

- Must have a valid Michigan Driver License.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and theft-related background check
