Job Description:
--maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department,
--works with service manager to establish individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum usage
--monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence
--ensures that all returned or warranty parts are properly tagged so that North Star Ranch recovers full credit from the factory
--assists in the supervision of the stock order procedures
--ensures technicians are adequately supplied with all parts and materials as needed
-- assists purchasing of supplies and materials for the service department
--adheres to policy on the special ordering of parts
--analyzes inventory monthly to maintain goals
--works with operations and service managers to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for jobs
--assists in analyzing departmental operations and helps revise as needed for maximum effectiveness
--provides technical assistance to employees
--assists in establishing and maintaining programs designed to train, develop and motivate department employees
--coordinates a prompt, efficient and timely flow of paperwork
--prepare and communicate weekly parts requests with management, including all back ordered parts and subsequent deferred maintenance
--responsible for issuing and receiving Dynamic Fleet owned tools for mechanics use. Checking condition upon return.
--seeks out new vendors, suppliers and manufacturers and negotiate terms and pricing
--ensures that all purchases are properly accounted for
--accepts other responsibilities as requested by the service managers
--responsible for the upkeep and safety inspections of all North Star Ranch Inc. owned equipment; man lifts, power jacks, air compressor, waste oil furnace
--responsible for used fluid disposal, scrap metal recycling, scrap tire disposal
--adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
--maintain all material safety data sheets
Skills/Qualifications:
--working knowledge of parts systems and cataloguing
--knowledge of the methods and practices used in maintaining inventory control records
--ability to correctly identify parts through use of catalogues or physical inspection
--excellent organizational and computer skills
--current (unrestricted) Michigan driver’s license is required
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
--ability to withstand prolonged periods of computer usage and/or data entry
--ability to stand, walk and/or sit for prolonged periods
--ability to work in various working conditions both indoors and outdoors, including but not limited to extreme heat and/or cold and rain
--ability to kneel, bend, and/or reach above the shoulders
--must be able to lift 75 pounds
--must be able to operate fork lift
