Department Summary
The Field Planning Scheduler responsibilities include development and optimization of the Gas Distribution/Gas Service work plans, providing leadership and direction for the Operations & Financial Planning organizations to optimize field and design resource utilization as well as providing planning decision analysis. The FPS has primary responsibility for developing and managing the mid-to-long range (2 week to 1 year) work plans with input from the following: strategic plan/budget, known changes to the operations, economic factors, productivity, projects and program work and rate case impacts. The FPS is responsible to facilitate the planning, scheduling, and administrative support process involving input from multiple headquarters and departments.
Job Description/Responsibilities
•In this position, the Field Planning Scheduler coordinates and leads administrative support and related office operations through field administrative assistants and specialists.
•Serves as the central information point within department/zone to facilitate management/administrative communication.
•Supervise a team of 8 or more direct reports.
•Responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating business operations which involve program specific clerical operations and/or any combination of such administrative services to support field and office tasks and compilation/evaluation of department specific reports.
•Oversee administration of core administrative tasks including, but not limited to: accounts payable, master card reconciliation, OM&C timesheet review, invoice processing, logistics coordination, mail services, Equivalent Straight Time Charging calculations, property restoration, and personnel support of operational meeting rooms and operations managers within Operations and Operations & Financial Planning.
Requirements/Qualifications
•A Bachelor's degree in the applicable field of study. Less than a Bachelor's degree may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive experience in an applicable industry in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.
The following skills / experience may set you apart from others:
•Experience in the planning and scheduling process and/or field operations experience.
•Understanding of corporate policies and procedures and SAP knowledge
•Knowledge of Work Management process.
•Working knowledge of the following software MS Word, MS Outlook, and Microsoft Excel.
•Demonstrated administrative/documentation skills and ability to coordinate planning activities across multiple headquarter sites both face to face and virtually.
Essential Functions
General or Field Planner/Schedulers supports the planning/scheduling functions for the distribution maintenance and construction areas of the Company. Duties and who this individual reports to will fluctuate between projects, departments and offices.
•Facilitate meetings and give presentations
•Excellent communication skills on the phone, radio, email, mobile devices, face-to-face, etc. - Be able to communicate with customers, contractors, and company employees.
•Using a computer for up to 8 hours or more per day - Be able use multiple applications at once and be able to type at least 30 words or more per minute
•Follow Written and Oral work Instructions -Be able to follow Job Aids and Work Instructions
•Writing/ Taking notes - Be able to write and take notes or fill out paper forms
•Be able to use standard office equipment - Copy machine, fax, printer
•Leads and assists teams of employees (direct and/or indirect reports)
•Position supports department specific work scheduling and dispatching
•Responsible for overseeing timely response to emergent/emergency situations
•Responsible for establishing schedules that meet commitments that have been made to customer
•Position may include day-to-day supervision of employees, often located in multiple headquarters
