Department Summary
The ERC Technical Specialists is a member of the Energy Delivery Support Center team and will routinely support other Energy Delivery Support activities including the daily management of task processing, Customer Communications (oral and written), statewide workload balancing or supporting our express design department .
Job Description/Responsibilities
Customer interaction through various communication techniques - Communicate with customers by mail/phone to verify if work is still a go using information from aging notifications or notifications waiting on the customer to proceed (non-technical/non-design customer communications - i.e., where to pay, has bill been mailed). Technical design inquiries are transferred to a designer or supervisor.
Key Responsibilities include:
•Balance workload for CEM designers and or Support Specialists workload
•Receive and post Inspections
•Mailing various customer letters (this covers mailing the scoping document)
•Create a variety of construction/non construction notifications (Disc/Rec orders are included in this area) - Create notifications from builders and/or home owners via email/web application for new construction/alterations and/or non- construction notifications. For example, create a notification for informing the electrician's name, permit number and work to be performed, or create a notification after the work has completed and add the inspection #.
•Create and mail Customer Packets - These are processed using SAP notification tasks. A list edit is ran and the information contained in the task text is used to create billing and the appropriate construction letter for the work performed. The information is provided by the Designers in CEM.
The selected candidate will be required to do the following tasks:
•Performs technical support functions and more complex tasks including establishing workload and organizing and
•Conducting assignments according to deadlines.
•Sets up tech support systems including record maintenance, data submission, and project management.
•Provides backup department support.
•Prepares reports and tech support material as directed from time to time.
•Maintains confidentiality.
•Performs or establishes procedures for tech support functions and actions including records, tracking of information, maintaining logs/spreadsheet, and other similar technical support.
•Under general direction, prepares special or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant
•Information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, correspondence, other areas of the Company, etc.
•Ensures that requests for action or information are relayed to appropriate staff members; ensures that information is furnished in a timely manner; decides whether a higher authority should be notified of important or emergency matters.
•Periodically evaluates process and program effectiveness and takes action to maintain continuous improvement. Follows all safety rules and procedures, and contributes to the safety of co-workers and the general public. Participates as an active technical support team member by contributing to program development and organization planning.
•Operate a computer terminal and utilize necessary software applications. Receive and support field calls to address questions with design packages and assist in troubleshooting. Have aptitude and ability to learn and perform the duties of the job including learning new designs reflecting new equipment.
•Willing and able to follow instruction, assist in training of co-workers, and cooperate with other employees and customers.
•Performs responsibilities in a manner that clearly shows effective communication and cooperation and that promotes open exchange of information, respect, high ethical standards and professionalism.
