Overview
Perform standard engineering assignments, which are of moderate technical complexity and usually represent a significant portion of a larger project. Independently select engineering techniques and approach to less experienced employees. Individuals in the capacity are recognized as having a high level of technical proficiency.
Responsibilities
* Perform moderately complex technical tasks which usually represent a significant portion of a larger project.
* Hardware Design (Schematics, Bills of Material)
* Embedded Firmware Design
* PC Test Software
* Prototyping (Soldering, Mechanical Assembly, Troubleshooting)
* Equipment Design for Production Test and Programming
* Support Test Departments at Contract Manufacturers
* Technical Documentation and Test Procedures
* Maintenance of Legacy Products
* Generate recommendations and conclusions for product improvements with minimal guidance.
* Achieve results using technical techniques and judgment.
* Ensure completion of assigned projects within budget, time and cost constraints.
* Coordinate work with other engineers and operating groups.
* Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science and equivalent work experience
* Focused technical knowledge, usually acquired by a minimum of 2+ year's related experience or a master's degree in Engineering or Science
* Microprocessors, Digital Electronics
* Embedded Software, Real Time Operating Systems, Software Development tools
* Design, Debug, and Test of Embedded Systems
* Knowledge of Vehicle Communication Protocols (e.g., CAN, J1939, J1708, ISO15765) preferred
* Advanced engineering principals
* Advanced analysis and complex problem solving skills
* Broad investigative skills
