Director of Talent Acquisition Job Summary:
A growing Grand Rapids, MI, based distribution company with global reach is seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition to join its team. The Director of Talent Acquisition will lead the talent acquisition strategic center of excellence to provide best-in-class recruitment and retention efforts across all business units both locally and globally.

Director of Talent Acquisition Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the team, processes, and systems that are used to attract, source, and screen talent
- Establish, track, and manage talent acquisition goals and metrics at both a strategic and tactical level
- Ensure timely and efficient recruitment services and provide support to business partners and the full lifecycle recruitment process (planning, sourcing, screening and hiring) to identify and acquire the best talent
- Continually evaluate opportunities for process improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and experience for hiring managers and candidates
- Develop and implement strategies for use of social media within the recruitment processes
- Manage compliance of pre-employment assessment processes including background checks and drug-testing, etc. as well as compliance with OFCCP and maintenance of applicant flow logs in an accurate and timely manner
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with vendors and internal department management; manage the use of approved external recruiters, employment agencies, and internet online recruiting sources
- Manage diversity recruiting initiatives and programs as driven by Affirmative Action Plans, as well as company military veterans/caregiver hiring initiatives
- Provide coaching and education to managers to strengthen management’s ability to assess talent; serve as an internal consultant to business and HR partners in the development of recruitment strategies, procedures, and practices
- Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals
- Develop and monitor department budget as required
Director of Talent Acquisition Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, administration or a related field required; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 10+ years of progressive experience in full lifecycle recruitment
- 5+ years of experience managing and developing a team
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing recruiting infrastructure and metrics
- Experience developing and implementing recruitment and retention policies and procedures with process consistency across a multi-state organization
- Advanced knowledge of recruiting best practices, recruiting systems, and legal compliance
- Experience managing OFCCP compliance highly preferred
- HRCI and/or SHRM certification desired
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Location: Grand Rapids, MI – relocation assistance is available. Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time while being based in Grand Rapids, MI.
