Continuing to move more of our vehicle platforms to electrified powertrains is a major focus for the upcoming model years. Working closely with our engineering teams and suppliers to source the necessary components will be key to achieving these objectives.
The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing activities supporting various commodities and assembly modules. The position requires cross-functional leadership with ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and complex analysis. The Senior Buyer is a global lead and directly involved in sourcing of electrification components or Batteries for vehicles in all regions. Certain programs within portfolio are global therefore cultural sensitivity and effective remote communication is required. Standard purchasing procedures and governance principles are to be followed. Proactive management and achievement of purchasing KPI’s including annual budget/cost reduction, on time sourcing, sourcing to best suppliers within NPV targets, supporting MOPAR requirements, and completion of commodity strategies will be required. Financial analysis, cost model development, and negotiation are also required. Owning and developing strategic supplier relationships is key for this strategic alliance commodity. The purchasing responsibilities include supplier negotiations, sourcing on time and to target, driving annual cost savings activities and development and implementation of global commodity strategies. Lead the resolution and negotiation of commercial issues. The selected candidate will interact with many cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Finance.
Basic Qualifications:
•Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field, from an AACSB or ABET accredited university. Engineering or other technical degrees with business background will also be considered
•Minimum of 7 years of experience in Purchasing or a closely related field
•Must be skilled at relationship building, cost analysis, negotiation (both internal and external), benchmarking, time management and presentations to all levels of management
•Recent significant production or indirect buying experience is essential
•Results-orientated with the ability to lead cross-functional and global teams
•Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
•Must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of management
•Strong communication skills required
•Must be proficient using Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master of Business Administration
•Familiarity with hybrid and electrification technology commodities, electrified powertrain components, assemblies, and/or technologies including electro-mechanical parts, energy storage, circuitry, controls, high voltage electronics,
•Proficient with financial analysis including complex NPV, linear regression
