Job Description: Accounting Clerk
Position Summary
Michigan Agricultural Commodities is seeking a full-time department assistant for its location in Middleton, Michigan. The ideal individual will have experience or interest in agricultural commodities and demonstrate a desire to develop new skills to positively impact the company.
Scope of Responsibilities
Responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, grain applications and settlements, freight payables, contract entry, account reconciliations, processing of mail and maintaining files, office supply ordering, event planning, service and assistance to both internal and external customers.
Job Requirements
Daily: Monthly:
- Assist with ticket entry - Account reconciliation
- Settlements issued - Intercompany reconciliation
- Contract entry – purchase/sales, pricings amendments - MDA reports
- Contract confirmations and signed status updates - Insurance stock reports
- Contract report e-mailed
- Accounts payable vouchers Quarterly:
- Accounts receivable posting - Customer grain acknowledgements
- Check reconciliation/banking uploads when needed
- Mail As Needed:
- Filing - Maintain discount and storage tables
- Execution ID - Customer service inquiries
Weekly: - Office supply runs/orders
- A/R Reports e-mailed
- Truck freight checks Other duties and projects as assigned
Bi-Weekly:
- Unsigned contract report (when intern is not completing)
Desired Skills/Competencies
- Must have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service
- Organizational and attention to detail skills
- Minimum associates degree in accounting or related field required
- One-year experience in accounting preferred
