Will be working in a large team/ warehouse environment. Company is a welding and fabrication facility, manuf. of parts for Caterpillar.
WAREHOUSE PULLER/ PACKER: The purpose of this job is to carry out activities which relate to the pulling and packing of materials, products and supplies.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments; unpacking and inspecting incoming shipments and matching items to respective shipper and purchase orders; rectifying discrepancies, identifying damaged material and communicating this information to appropriate personnel; preparing items for outgoing shipment; entering record of incoming material into material log and ERP (but, will consider any inventory tracking system)
Receipt of Goods Program; tagging material in accordance with quality standards; performing quality checks on receipted material to comply with all related quality standards; distributing/delivering incoming material to the appropriate departments; forwarding packing slip and /or proof of delivery to Accounts Payable; assisting with loading and unloading of trucks; contacting appropriate freight companies (UPS, FedEx etc.) when necessary and coordinating timely shipments; maintaining raw stock inventory and storage facility; recording the use and requisition of raw material stock and storage facility; transporting material within and around plant; keeping shipping and receiving area clean and free of excess goods; cleaning and other general shop tasks; performing other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Equipment operated as part of the essential functions (includes but is not limited to): power forklift or similar trucks, telephone, computer and related technology.
Ability to work overtime to accommodate production and delivery schedules will be required.
Physical requirements which are part of the essential functions:
Standing, sitting, moving, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping hearing or equivalent, sight-visual acuity.
Mental requirements which are part of the essential functions: The ability to read and understand job instructions, effectively communicate and interact with others.
Educational and or prior experience requirements include:
Familiarity with shipping and receiving operations and or on the job training.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
