Overview
The successful candidate will: Provide leadership for all aspects of the company's operations including manufacturing, scheduling, logistics, maintenance, safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement; Direct, manage and coordinate the implementation of operational strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of company goals; Work closely with key cross functional leadership within Tubelite and Apogee to achieve company goals; Serve as a member of the Tubelite Management Team and provide input to strategic business goals and successfully implement objectives and activities that are critical to the success of the business.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
•Responsible for meeting all objectives of the company's operations and ensuring that customer orders are produced and delivered on-time, correct and complete in a productive and safe manner while providing industry leading quality and lead times for all products sold.
•Develops a Continuous Improvement culture and champions the Lean and Six Sigma activities necessary to optimize safety, quality, delivery and cost/productivity throughout the Business Unit.
•Ensures compliance with applicable certification requirements within the plant (AC-10).
•Meets or exceeds all financial obligations in terms of EBIT, ROIC, and sales revenue targets, with particular emphasis on achieving production cost targets and declared inventory levels.
•Provides leadership and development of direct reports to maximize their professional performance and growth. Effectively utilizes regularly scheduled meetings, performance evaluations and salary reviews to provide meaningful performance feedback.
•Develops effective succession planning to address employee turnover and performance.
•Leads the annual budgeting process with regard to developing targets for equipment OEE, labor productivity, material utilization, breakage & loss, warranty, and all other costs associated with plant operations.
•Develops plans and implements the acquisition of capital. Assists in cost justification activities and strategic planning for manufacturing equipment and all plant operations.
•Ensures compliance with all governmental regulatory codes, regulations and standards as they relate to safety and health. Works effectively with all functional groups to ensure a safe and hazard free workplace
•Maintains effective working relationships with all employees and departments within the company and within Apogee. Promotes a positive working environment within the plant. Ensures consistent application of company policies throughout areas of responsibility. Actively supports and demonstrates behavior consistent with the company's Core Values. Works closely with Apogee operations support team members in support of corporate-wide operations strategies.
•Ensures daily/weekly/monthly and quarterly Operations communications meetings are occurring and that appropriate Operations Metrics are being tracked, monitored and improved upon using Continuous Improvement and Quality System tools (Action Registers, CAPA, Control Plans etc.)
•Develops business acumen regarding our markets, products, customers, and competitors. Able to function as a commercial liaison of the company in routine communications and visits with customers. Proactively aligns operational strategy in anticipation of changing market needs and expectations.
•Ensures Tubelite is represented in the communities in which it operates and maintains positive relationships with other business, government and community groups within the city, region and state.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Degree in engineering or related technical field
•15+ years manufacturing experience with 7-10 years in an operations leadership role
•Excellent knowledge and a substantial record of achievement leading lean manufacturing environments
•Demonstrated track record creating high performance cultures and leading a high performance teams
•Excellent management skills, a bias for action and accountability, and a quantifiable track record of exceptional accomplishment
