RiderCoach Requirement
In order to become a certified RiderCoach, you must:
Be 18 years of age or older.
Possess a valid driver’s license, including a motorcycle (CY) endorsement to
operate a motorcycle for a minimum of one (1) year.
Have a personal driving record with not more than six (6) points for moving
violations during the 12 consecutive months applying for approval as a
RiderCoach.
Successfully complete a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) RiderCoach
Preparation Course (90 hours).
Students must be physically capable of standing on pavement in various weather
conditions for extended periods of time. This includes rain, snow, and extreme
heat.
Must attend and complete a current BRCu course, including the eCourse.
Other aspects taken into consideration:
The candidate is an active motorcyclist with considerable street riding miles each
year.
The candidate is committed to all aspects of motorcycle rider and safety education
and the MSF RiderCoach Rules of Professional Conduct.
The candidate shows evidence of strong presentation skills.
The candidate will commit to the sponsoring program with a willingness to work a
minimum of three (3) classes per season for a minimum of three years, meets the
needs of the recommending sponsor and represents the program in a courteous
and professional manner.
We pay $24 an hour for instructing. It will be $14 if you co-teach before being on your
own. We also cover mileage, hotel and meals if you are not at your “home” location.
Classes run from May through July with classes typically Saturday and Sunday
19-20 hours per week
