The Manufacturing Engineering International Process Engineer is responsible for developing processes and tooling for trim, chassis and final line operations from vehicle design concept through in-plant vehicle launch. This position is also responsible for Manufacturing Process Design Creation, PFMEA’s development and Process Documentation. The Process Engineer will write detailed process instructions for trim, chassis and final line shop production operators including all process steps. Create graphics using CAD systems in AMPS and Teamcenter Manufacturing in both English and Spanish. The Process Engineer interfaces with Product Engineers to ensure product design feasibility for manufacturing and develops PFMEAs with cross-functional teams, and reports out findings and implements improvements. The Process Engineer will write detailed tooling specifications for various types of production tooling, single point tooling, fixtures and complex systems such as decking cells in English and Spanish.
•Understand vehicle GD&T and works with Product Engineering counterparts to ensure that locating schemes are production feasible and ergonomic.
•Manage all aspects of tooling design, build and implementation including budget and time lines using Microsoft Project.
•Manage root cause analysis utilizing tools such as 5W +1H, Fishbone diagrams, 5 Why’s, PFMEAs, Pareto Charts, Histograms as well as interface with Mexico plants and Chrysler Technical Center Product Engineering staff.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Technology, Business or related field
•5+ years of experience in process and tooling manufacturing engineering
•Experience with Teamcenter
•Ability to manage a project from beginning to end while meeting project budget and timing targets
•Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, challenging environment
•Fluent in English and Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to interface with plants and product engineering personnel in Mexico
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other technical field
•5+ years of automotive engineering experience
•Experience with AMPS, Teamcenter Manufacturing, Vis Pro, Vis Mockup and Vis Jack, Factory CAD and process simulate
•Knowledge of part flow simulation and human simulation with Teamcenter
•Understanding of vehicle GD&T
•Knowledge of PFMEA creation
