The Investment Operations Specialist will be the initial point of contact for all operational aspects of employee benefits plan asset management. This includes working closely with the trustee/custodian to manage benefit plan and trust activities for the US and Canadian pension assets and providing support for investment operations. As part of the Asset Management team, the Investment Operations Specialist will ensure compliance with all US & Canadian internal governance. They will also assist in preparing materials for external compliance including: 1) external corporate and plan level financial statement reporting requirements related to employee benefit plan assets, 2) serving as the point of contact for external/internal audit of corporate and plan level financial statement disclosures related to plan assets, and 3) compliance with regulatory authorities and applicable regulations, including preparation of ad hoc reports, quarterly monitoring and other government regulation reporting requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
•Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent
•Minimum 8 years of finance, treasury, and/or accounting experience
•Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
•Demonstrated leadership and ability to effectively manage multiple projects
•Ability to manage and work collaboratively with other functional groups (benefits finance, retirement & savings, legal, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
•General understanding of capital markets, pension trusts, and accounting standards and financial statement footnote disclosures related to pension assets
•Candidate’s openness to rotate through other positions within the broader Treasury department
